Southeast Asia:Sovereign and Regional Identity and Its Origins

东南亚地区的一体化进程已为世人瞩目。东南亚地区一体化形成主要有两个原因:一、受西方启蒙思潮及理性主义思想的影响,东盟各国以主权认同为基础,实现东南亚地区的集体自主;二、受经济全球化及地区一体化进程的影响,东盟各国以相互依赖及权力并存换取东南亚地区的共同发展。

The integration of Southeast Asia,having caught the eye of the whole world,is chiefly attributed to two factors：first,influenced by the Enlightenment and Rationalism of the West,ASEAN members have been building on their identity of sovereignty to realize their independence as a whole,and secondly,in view of the impact of economic globalization and regional integration,the countries in this area have had to base their development on economic and political co-existence.
