摘要
文章借助系统功能语法中的语法隐喻理论,对朱自清散文《背影》的两篇英译文进行语法隐喻分析,旨在揭示翻译中语义和意境在两种语码间的转换问题。分析表明,在汉语向英语的语码转换中,语法隐喻理论确实具有一定的说服力和可操作性;而且译文不仅要如实准确地传达原文的语义,更应生动、形象地再现原文的意境。
This paper is an attempt to study the essay ＂the sight of father＇s back＂ by Zhu Ziqing and its translated versions from the perspective of grammatical metaphor in systemic functional linguistics.The two underlying purposes of this study are to show how a grammatical metaphor theory can provide insight to the study of translation,especially when balancing meaning and image,and to test the applicability of grammatical metaphor theory in discourse analysis and translation studies.
