西方视域中的中国形象

The Images of China in the Perspective of the West

在西方视域中,中国形象大体分为三种类型:一种是正向的、理想化的形象,另一种是负向的、妖魔化的形象,第三种则是双向矛盾型的形象。本文对这三类形象进行具体的梳理与描述,并逐一展开分析,从学理层面上揭示三类形象构成的原因、条件、方式与过程,指出这三类形象是西方与中国之间真实关系的映现,并且进而说明,有关这一现象的探索与研究,有助于人们理解中西双方之间的复杂关系,把握西方人对待中国的态度和行为,并在与西方人的交往过程中做出明智的选择。

In the perspective of the westerners,the images of China are divided into three categories：the first category is the one of positive and idealized image,the second is the negative and demonized,while the third is the ambivalent kind.This paper attempts to organize and describe these categories of images concretely and analyze them in turn.It reveals the causes,conditions,ways and processes that the images of three categories are formed in an academic level,and shows that these images are the reflections of real relations between western countries and China.Furthermore,it demonstrates that the study of this phenomenon will help to understand the complicated relations between China and the western world,to have a grasp of the westerners＇attitudes and actions toward China,and to make a sensible decision in the interrelation with the westerners.
