自明初至清末五百余年,琉球作为中国的附属国,受中国文化影响极深。明代琉球汉诗今已不存,清代琉球汉诗,自顺治年间开始,风行二百年。琉球汉诗大致有两大主题,一为有国之乐,二为亡国之痛。琉球汉诗的黄金时期正值中国的康乾盛世,一时诗人辈出,程顺则是其代表。

During the 500-odd years between the begnning of Ming Dynasty and the end of Qing Dynasty,Liuqiu,as a subordinate nation to China,is under profound influence of Chinese culture.So far,Han poems of Liuqiu in Ming Dynasty have been extinct and those in Qing Dynasty prevailed for 200 years since Shunzhi periods.There are two main themes of Liuqiu＇s Han poems： the happiness of owning a nation,the pain of losing a nation.The golden time of Liuqiu＇s Han poems was in Kangxi and Qianlong periods at their heyday when poets mushroomed with Chen Shun-ze as its representative.
