This paper introduces the differences and relations among the concept and characteristics of risk assessment,environmental risk assessment and safety evaluation.It analyzes the content and method of environmental risk assessment in petrochemical projects, including the purpose of the assessment,the content and object of risk assessment,assessment method,the determining of the probability of accidents, risk identification,consequence prediction and risk assessment.The paper also expatiates on the procedure to establish the assessment model.
