Chinese American Poet Li-Young Lee is one of the most influential poets in eompemporary America. Due to his special family background and experience, he has his unique style in choosing subjects and exploying writing techniques. He adopts both the traditional and postmodernistie teehniques and has already made great achievement in artistic skills. He chooses materials from his Chinese family and expresses the themes of love and death. Li-Young Lee＇s ideas are influenced by Chinese Taoism, Bible and Ameriean Trancendentalism. His poetry is the product of the combination of Chinese and western cultures.
