Enlightenment Gained from Mao Zedong’s Thinking on the Development of Science and Technology

毛泽东科技发展思想是毛泽东思想体系的有机组成部分,其内容极其丰富,如:把科技放在国家发展的战略高度,把尖端科技优先放在国防战略部门,把科技人才的培养置于战略高度,把基础科学和民用技术置于基础战略地位。毛泽东科技发展思想对我国建设创新型国家具有重要启示:中国必须制定与自身大国地位相适应的科技发展战略,始终以独立自主为立足点,坚持以人为本,注重统筹兼顾。

As an organic part of Mao Zedong Thought, Mao Zedong＇s thinking on the development of science and technology is very rich in content, such as raising the development of science and technology to the stragegical high,national defence departments getting priority in making use of the most advanced science and technology, attaching great importance to the training of skilled personnel and taking basic science and civilian technology as the strategical foundation. The enlightenment we gain from this thinking is that it is necessary to draw up a scientific and technological development strategy, be independant, put people first and persist in overall consideration.
