This article starts with Lacan’s famous Theory of Mirror Image which combines psychology with linguistics to provide a new perspective of interpreting translation process as well as the psychological development of translator during the whole process.Generally speaking, the translator is to go through three phases,i.e.the Imaginary, the Symbolic and the Real, while the final product of trans-lation involves suppression of the translator’s creative desire, imitative desire and others, but the translator manages to conceal himself and find alternative ways of self-fulfillment.In regard to practice, many translation cases are examined and the translator’s mental functions analyzed to propose the most appropriate strategy in each case.Lastly, the author expresses her interest in this particular sub-ject and shows confidence for the outlook of further research in this area.
