In this paper the thermodynamic calculation and comparative analysis on the variable mass system of reciprocating vacuum pump are presented and the calculation formula of exhaustion coefficient, limited vacuum and power are given, by taking WL-50 vertical reciprocating vacuum pump as an example. Theoretical analysis and engineering implementation show that WL-series vertical reciprocating vacuum pumps possess obvious advantages of less energy consumption, compact structure, smaller volume, lighter weight and convenient maintenance, and that they are of great application prospect.
