The literature resources in Minxi（west of Fujian）,including newspapers and journals,are an im-portant part in the construction of special collections for library.The development and utilization of these re-sources are of significant importance to the study of local political,economic and cultural development and to the construction of material and spiritual civilizations and pushing forward the construction of library special collec-tions.The development and utilization of the resources are now in its initial stage with many difficulties to deal with.As a result,it should be well planned,managed and time,technologies and fund should be guaranteed for its development and utilization.
