摘要
系统功能语言学将英语关系过程分为修饰型和识别型两类。但是这一二元分类模式在语义和语法层面均存在问题。基于汉语语言学中的指称-陈述理论,我们提出,英语关系过程是从修饰型关系向识别型关系过渡的语义连续体。一个关系过程在连续体中的位置是由其补语指称或陈述性的强弱决定的。
In Systemic Functional Linguistics,English relational processes are typed into a dyadic model：attributive processes and identifying processes.However,this model is problematic at both semantic and grammatical levels.Based on the designation-assertion theory developed by Chinese linguists,this paper argues that English relational processes are situated on an attributive-identifying continuum.A process’s position on the continuum is determined by the nature of its complement.
