Improving the Language Competence by Enhancing Culture Teaching

文化教学是外语教学的一个重要内容,阅读是获取知识的有效手段。要提高学生的阅读理解水平,仅靠词汇量、语法、句型是远远不够的,更重要的是加强他们的文化理解力,克服缺乏文化因素所造成的阅读障碍。本文探讨了文化教学与阅读理解的关系,提出了通过加强文化教学来促进阅读水平的提高,进而提高英语语言能力的教学方法。

The teaching of cultures is one of the most important part in English teaching.Reading is an effective way for the students to acquire knowledge.In order to improve the students reading comprehension,they are required to have cultural knowledge besides the four skills.The paper tries to discuss some comprehensive barriers students meet in the process of English reading,and then analyzes the relationship between the teaching of cultures and language teaching.It brings forth a teaching method of integrating language teaching and culture in the classrooms.
