An Analysis of Howards End under the Perspective of Ecofeminism

《霍华德庄园》是E.M.福斯特著名的"联结"理论的成功展示,初步解决了现代社会出现的人与自然,人与人,以及男性与女性之间的矛盾。从生态女性主义角度对小说进行解读,指出福斯特推崇的"联结"实质上用生态主义和女性主义的视角重新审视这个世界,解构长久以来存在的人与自然的分离,男权社会的男女不平等以及人与人之间严格的等级观念,从而达到社会与自然,社会内部的和谐统一。

Howards End is a successful demonstration of E.M.Forster＇s famous theory of ＂Connection＂,with which the conflicts between human and nature,human beings,male and female are solved to some extent.This paper gives an analysis of the novel under the perspective of Ecofeminism,proposing that the ＂Connection＂ Forster advocates is actually a philosophy to study the world with ecofeminism so as to solve problems as the estrangement between human kind and nature,inequity between male and female in a Patriarchal Society and strict demarcation of social stratums and achieve harmony in the society as well as that between the nature and society.
