Ellipsis is an effective way to avoid repetition and stress the main points in discourse cohesion.The successful understanding of ellipsis in listening discourses needs the involving of ICM;this essay explores the whole understanding process of ellipsis in listening discourses from the aspects of cognitive psyche and construction of ICM.It reappears the process of information analysis,information gap filling and information frame reconstruction,hoping will provide some help in the understanding of ellipsis in listening discourses.
