Piers Plowman is a long poem involving the discussion of religious belief.This article makes a brief introduction to the main plot of Piers Plowman—the story of how Will,a man who is kind by nature and finally finds the best moral principles after many frustrations—so as to provide the necessary information for the reader who has not read it before.Secondly,it makes a comparatively elaborate discussion of how the poet exhibits the theme of this poem to the reader：analyses of the chosen Christ image and the foil to the theme of simplicity,of what kind of man needs to save his/her soul,and of how a true Christian may save his/her soul with the example of the words and deeds of the protagonist Piers Plowman.
