Liu Ji's Anti-corruption Deeds and Ideology

刘基不仅仅是一个历史文化名人的称谓符号,还是浙南乃至中国东南地域廉政文化教育的一面旗帜。刘基生平里的廉政事迹,充分展现了一个廉洁奉公、执法如山、不徇私情、不畏权势的"廉吏"形象;刘基诗文中嫉恶敬贤的胆识、为邦贵知本的意识、以德去刑的主张、用得其当的人才观,都蕴含着丰富的廉政思想。当然,由于历史的局限性,刘基的廉政理论中存有浓厚的君主专制思想,这是我们应加以辨识与摈弃的;对其中以民为本、廉洁自律、秉公执法等合理内核,则要大力弘扬,用以丰富当代廉政文化理论,促进廉政建设的发展。

Liu Ji is not only the title of a famous historical and cultural celebrity,but also the educational banner of anti-corruption culture in the south of Zhejiang Province and even the Southeast of China.Liu Ji＇s honest deeds fully demonstrate his integrity including being upright in performing his official duties,steadfast in law enforcement,never being swayed by personal considerations and never being frightened by persons in power.Liu Ji＇s poems and articles convey his personality of hating the evil and respecting the intellectuals,his human-oriented ideology,the proposal of applying benevolence instead of punishment,and the idea of appointing the intellectuals to the proper positions,which contain rich ideas of anti-corruption.To Liu Ji＇s ideology,we should on one hand clearly know its historical constraints and abandon its idea of feudal autocratic monarchy.On the other hand,we should carry forward some reasonable core ideas including his human-oriented ideology,sticking to integrity and self-discipline,and strict law enforcement so as to enrich the contemporary theory of anti-corruption culture and promote the construction of integrity.
