北宋张载创立"关学",其后人张晋定居滦州(今滦县)后开始在唐山一带弘扬、传播这一思想。由此,"关学"对唐山区域文化的形成以及唐山人文精神的塑造产生了极其深远的历史影响。

ZHANG Zai in the Northern Song Dynasty founded Guanxue and ZHANG Jin, his successor, began propagating and spreading it after settling down in Luanzhou （now Luanxian County）. Therefore, Guanxue is of far-reaching influence on the formation of Tangshan regional culture and the molding Tangshan humanistic spirit.
