Foreignization as Major Translation Method and Combined with Domestication

本文通过对《傲慢与偏见》中柯林斯先生书信的原文和译文进行分析、比较,探讨孙致礼译本中所采用的翻译方法和所达到的翻译效果。笔者认为文学翻译要坚持异化为主、归化和异化相结合的翻译方法,既保存原作的风味,又不露生硬牵强的痕迹。

By analyzing and comparing a letter taken from Pride and Prejudice and the translated version by Sun Zhili,this paper probes into the translation methods adopted and the effects achieved in the version.It is held in literature translation.Translators should adopt foreignization as the major translation strategy and combine it with domestication so as to preserve the original＇s flavor and show no trace of stiffness at the same time.
