Cultural Deficiency and Translation Compensation in Classical Allusions from Tang Poems

典故中的文化缺省易造成译文民族特色、形象性、联想意义等方面的损失。补偿译文读者文化缺省,应注重考虑译文读者的接受能力和反应,而不能过分地考虑文化探索要求,可采取文化加注、释义、替换等方式。

Cultural deficiency in classical allusions may cause loses of version from various aspects such as nationality nature,figurativeness and associative meaning.Therefore,during the translation compensation,the translator should consider more about the receptivity and responses of the target language readers than the exploration of culture.Based on this principle,some ways of translation compensation are given,namely cultural annotation,explanation,replacement.
