The geographical advantages of Chongqing can not be compared by any other areas of Sichuan since ancient times.In the modern times,the imperialist countries,such as Britain,France,and Japan,tried to invade Sichuan and Chongqing to make Chongqing open its port.After being enforced to open the port,Sichuan and the outside have been connected closely,which not only regulated the commodity market of Sichan and the west China,but also acted as a platform for local specialties transportation,and it brought new opportunities to the economic development of the west China.
