摘要
本文通过《蝴蝶君》透视出东西方对"柔"的不同解读,分析东西方文化上冲突的根本原因。西方从二元对立的角度出发,认为"柔"受制于"刚",权力来源于对他者的弱化和统治;而东方的哲学认为"柔"不代表"弱"、"柔"胜于"强"以及"强大居下,柔弱微细居上"的辩证道理。宋莉玲的示弱和加利马尔逞强都是他们自身文化的反映,《蝴蝶君》探讨了这种"刚性"和"柔性"的相对性和转换的可能。本文指出在当今非西方经济、政治日益强大的氛围中重新审视和反省自身文化缺陷在处理文化冲突中的积极意义。
The paper is to discuss the factors underlying the difference between Eastern and Western understanding of the cultural concept "softness".The West tends to regard "softness" as suboreinate to "strength",the power and domination while the East takes "softness" as superior to "strength",instead of taking it as "weakness".Song's exhibition of "softness" and Gallimard's exhibition of "strength" in M.Butterfly are both reflection of their respective culture.It will be of great significance for dealing with cultural conflict in a new world where the non-western economy and politics are prospering to understand the relativity and interchangeability of "softness" and "strength".
