Suggestions on Reform of English Teaching in Newly-Built University

英语在现代社会的重要性使其成为了中国所有在校大学生的必修课。大学英语教学的质量与效果也日益成为人们所关注的问题。由于新建本科院校是由专科教育过渡到本科教育,在大学英语教学中,这类院校有着一些不同于其它本科院校的问题。拟从教学活动涉及的教师、学生、教材这三个基本要素出发,探讨这类院校在大学英语教学中普遍存在的问题,提出提高新建本科院校大学英语教学质量的几点建议,并分析指出提高新建本科院校大学英语教学质量的现实意义。

English is important enough to be a compulsory course for all college students in China. People pay more and more attention to the quality and effects of College English Teaching. Because newly-built university just experienced the change from college education to undergraduate education,there are some special problems which affect the College English Teaching in these universities. As far as the teacher ,the student and the text book are concerned,the paper discusses some typical problems of College English Teaching in newly-built universitiesIt also gives some suggestions to improve the quality of College English Teaching in these universities and points out the significance of the improvement.
