English humor can be discussed by Relevance Theory of pragmatic principles. Numerous and kinds of humor can be found in English language,and also its essence and important part. Its arising is closely combined to not only the inherent law of language,but the context it is used to a large extent. From the view of pragmatics,the humor has its laws,and it also has an interior relation with the pragmatic principles. Knowledge of pragmatic principles and its relevance theory can help to get a deep understanding of the meanings that behind humor and strengthen our communicate skills.
