Filmmaking techniques and fictional writing share a lot of characteristics in common. Some modem British and American writers have benefited much from filmmaking techniques and artistically adopted them in their fiction writing. This paper discusses filmmaking techniques, such as crosscutting, slow motion, close-up and montage, and their application to modem fiction.
