摘要
从认知语言学的角度探析英语词汇的多义现象,从根本上来说是通过人类的认知手段主要是隐喻来实现的。传统的词汇教学忽视了多义词内部各个义项之间的认知联系,教师引入认知语言学的观点,启发学生的思维,可以使他们逐步认识到词义与词义之间,词与文化之间的联系。
The article explores the English polysemy from the perspective of cognitive linguistics,and illustrates that it is formed mainly through metaphor,one way of human's cognitive thinking.Given that the cognitive relations between different meanings of a polysemous word have been ignored in the traditional vocabulary teaching,teachers should inspire students with the idea of cognitive linguistics to help them realize the connections between word meanings and between words and culture gradually.
