Based on the description of train formation structure,train communication network and train control system of CRH3Electrical Multiple Unit（EMU）,coding rules for the equipment coding and location oriented to fault diagnosis system were analyzed.The general architecture of CRH3EMU failure diagnosis system was elaborated and the structure and function of diagnosis documentation system were analyzed in detail which was the core diagnosis knowledge management system.This failure diagnosis system provided strong support for the safe operation of CRH3EMU.
