A Study on the Diachronic Substitution of Chinese Character "Wei" and "Jia"

表示"非真"义,先秦多用"伪",现代汉语则说"假"。"假"对"伪"的替换是逐步完成的,南北朝时期,"假"已经在口语中替代了"伪";在书面语中的替换要晚一些,大致在宋代完成。

Chinese character ＂Wei＂,as a common word,was to be false in the Pre-Qin.However,＂Jia＂ often stands for the meaning of untruth in contemporary Chinese language.＂Jia＂ replaced ＂Wei＂ progressively.During the period of the Southern and Northern Dynasties,＂Jia＂ had substituted the word ＂Wei＂ in the spoken language.＂Jia＂ wholly substituted the Chinese character ＂Wei＂ in written language about Song Dynasty.
