Scott has been universally regarded as the founder and great master of the historical novel.His historical novels cover a long period of time,from the Middle Ages up to the 18th century.In this article,historical tradition and the norm of Scott 's fiction are briefly discussed by presenting his most famous historical works,and try to indicate the main features of Scott 's historical novels.
