What Is the Core of Yan'an Spirit and How Should We Carry Forward Yan'an Spirit?

延安精神的本质是中国共产党人在延安时代所形成的革命精神,其核心和灵魂是对共产主义理想的坚定信念。对于共产党员尤其是党的各级领导干部来说,弘扬延安精神首先必须解决共产主义理想信念是否坚定的问题。我们现在仍然处于并将长期处于社会主义初级阶段,必须而且只能实行与这个阶段相适应的经济和社会政策,但这绝不意味着实行这些政策是党的最终目标和最高理想。如果我们党在延安时代,在实行抗日民族统一战线和新民主主义政策时,尚且需要使每个党员牢记共产主义的远大目标,那么在已经进入社会主义社会,开始实行社会主义初级阶段政策的时候,更应当强调每个党员保持对共产主义的理想信念。大量事实说明,只有这样,执行现行政策才不会走样,延安精神才能在我们党长期执政、实行市场经济和对外开放条件下,为广大党员尤其是党的各级领导干部所发扬,延安精神中的自力更生、艰苦奋斗等精神才能在全社会得到推广。

The core and soul of Yan'an spirit is the firmly-grounded loyalty to the communist ideal.What should be stressed firstly when carrying forward Yan 'an spirit is to firm believe of the realization of communism.For communist party members,particularly its leaders on all levels,the first issue be solved is to ask whether their communist belief is strong or not;only with firm communist belief can the Yan'an spirit be carried forward,and can the spirit of struggling hard be widely spread.
