New Interpretation of Cai Yuanpei's Idea of the Reform of Peking University and Its Modern Value

Cai Yuanpei, the first president of Peking University, made the school a modern university by adhering to ＂governing a university by professors＂ and following the principle of ＂thought freedom and coexistence of different schools of thoughts＂, thus leading other Chinese universities to modernization.
