My Life in China and America is a window from which Yung Wing＇s social and educational thoughts as well as his contribution are revealed. Introducing Western learning into China to build a powerful nation was what Yung Wing sought after all his life and served as a guiding principle in all his activities, social, political and educational. His thoughts and experiences offered a new way for the modernization of China＇s society and education, which is of great social value and historical significance.
