"Unwanted Man" and "Zero-Man":A Comparison Study on Characters between Turgenev's and Yu Da-fu's Novels

"五四"前夕,屠格涅夫的作品进入中国,并对中国的现代作家产生了广泛而深刻的影响,作为现代作家的郁达夫也不例外。他们笔下的"多余人"与"零余者"有着很大的继承性,相似性,但作为艺术的典型,他们生活在不同时代的不同国度,在文化背景、生存环境和性格特征方面有着较大的差异。从可比性原则的角度出发,对二者进行分析,挖掘其历史渊源、性格特征及所蕴含的社会历史内涵,从而揭示他们各自的审美内涵以及整体时代精神对人的影响。

Turgenev＇ s works entered China on the eve of the ＂May 4th Movement＂, which had a great influence to China＇s modern writers, including Yu Dafu. The characters, Unwanted Man and ZeroMan, in their novels were quite similar. However, as an artistic model, due to the difference of countries and times, they had many differences in cultural background, living environment, and characteristics. On the basis of commeasurable principles, the paper analyzed its historical origin, characteristic and social history connotation to reveal its influence to people.
