"New Hampshire", an important long poem of Frost' s, is either misunderstood or unduly valued. This article thinks that the poem is Frost' s defense of his poetry, even of modern American poetry as a whole. Frost is strongly defending for his market-friendly poetry, and for the relation between poetry and commerce. Equally important, Frost is defending for his realistic, regional poetry, thus for American modem poetry itself.
