唯美主义与形式主义作为文学从他律走向自律的两个重要阶段,为现代西方文论的开创起到了承上启下的作用。从唯美主义到形式主义的跃进,从艺术自身就是目的到专门探讨文学的语言形式,是进一步确认文学自律的过程。在这一渐进的过程中,人们的视野由文本之外转向文本之内,进而开启了文本研究的殿堂。

As the two important stages of Literature--from heteronomy to self, Aestheticism and Formalism have played a pioneering role and linking role for the modern Western literary theory. The leap from Aestheticism to the formalism, from the art for art＇ s sake to exploning the language form, is to further the process of self-recognition literature. In this gradual process, the study of text on external elements shifts to study the constituent elements of text, and then opened the temple of text research.
