Brainstem venous congestion caused by carotid-cavernous fistula： a report of two cases and literature review

目的 探讨颈动脉海绵窦瘘（CCF）导致脑干静脉性充血的诊断、治疗及预后.方法 结合文献复习,回顾性分析2例CCF导致脑干静脉性充血病例的临床资料.结果 依据患者临床表现及影像学检查,得出正确诊断.1例患者弹簧圈栓塞CCF,术后痊愈 1例患者球囊闭塞CCF,术后神经功能障碍明显改善.结论 脑干静脉性充血是颈动脉海绵窦瘘少见而严重的并发症,正确的诊断与及时、适当的治疗可改善预后.

Objective To explore diagnosis, treatment and outcome of brainstem venous congestion caused by carotid-cavernous fistula. Methods Combined with review of the literatures, the clinical data of two patients suffered from brainstem venous congestion caused by carotid-cavernous fistula were analyzed. Results According to clinical manifestation and imaging examination, diagnosis of patients were defined accurately. One patient was treated with coil, who has been fully recovered. The other patient was treated with balloon, whose neurologic impairment has made better obviously. Conclusions Brainstem venous congestion is a rare and serious complication caused by carotid-cavernous fistula. Good outcome can be expected if it has been diagnosed accurately and treated appropriately.
