On Controversy of Value Orientation in Mathematics Education——Practical Application or Thought Training

摘要 数学教育价值有两种取向:强调思维训练和强调数学应用,这两种取向对中国现代数学教育都有显著的影响.应该同时兼顾到这两面的价值,两者是不可或缺、互相促进的,离开了应用的数学思维是孤立单薄的,而没有了数学思维的有力支撑,真正意义上的数学应用意识就会无路而来.建国60年以来的历次数学课程改革也表明:需要倡导的应该是在数学课程与教学中追求两者的有机结合与辩证统一,在数学应用中发展思维,在发展思维的同时注重数学应用. There exist two different value orientations in mathematics education and mathematics curriculum, namely valuing practical application or thought training. Both orientations, each of which is indispensible and helpful to the other, are of significant influence on China's modem mathematics education. Mathematical thoughts isolated from practical application can never be deep enough. Similarly, if left the strong support of mathematical thoughts, there will be no real sense awareness of mathematical application either. What should be proposed here is to improve thoughts in mathematical application, whilst value mathematical application in developing the thoughts. 60 years' mathematics curriculum reforms since the foundation of PRC also indicate that it is necessary to pursue the integrity and dialectical unity of the value of practical application and thought training.
