北约是地缘政治战略博弈的产物,其成员国大多具有较悠久的地缘战略思维传统。冷战给北约地缘政治战略的发展提供了契机。冷战后,持续的地缘扩张成为北约地缘政治战略的核心,与之相联系的是北约政治职能的不断拓展,这种扩张和拓展已经并将继续引发一系列新的矛盾和问题。

NATO is a product of the game of geopolitical strategy, and most of its member countries have a long tradition of geopolitical thinking. The Cold War provided a chance for NATO to develop its geopolitical strategy. Since the end of the Cold War, NATO＇s continuous geoexpansion has dominated its geopolitical strategy, and related to this is the expansion of its political function. Such expansions have triggered and will continue to trigger a series of contradictions and problems.
