China’s electronic components and parts industry has been reviving from the economic downturn. The country’s exports of electronic devices in the f irst two months of 2010 were valued at USD 4.36 billion and USD 4.92 billion respectively for year-on-year increases of 93.1 percent and 48.3 percent respectively. The whole industry sold USD 24.156 billion by June in the overseas markets, a rise of 44.57 percent compared with the same period of last year. It is conservatively estimated that the trend will continue this year and that the annual growth will stay above 40%. The industry faces a ? uctuating and uncertain future. It is predicted that the global business of electronic components will slow down in the last quarter of this year. This will hamper exports of such goods. But the industry’s prof it margin has been climbing as the international oil price has fallen to USD 74 per barrel. This will partly offset the loss of market. But the most important factor to spur the Chinese electronic parts industry is technical innovation. 3G, Triple Play, auto electronics, and the Internet of Things will bring about many opportunities for the industry.
