Reasons for applying chamber blasting in open pit extension in Etouchang Iron Ore was expounded, and such matters as blasting parameters, calculation of chamber blasting parameters, requirements for slope safety and layout of lead and powder chamber, as well as powder chamber block and initiation network were introduced. The blasting validity was evaluated.
