An Improved Network Topology Discovery Based on SNMP

本文通过对MIB-II定义的路由表、地址转换表等信息的分析,描述了一种改进的基于SNMP的网络拓扑发现方法。该方法发现结果比较准确,对于设备接口之间连接关系在配置了VLAN的网络中也能很好地发现。由于该方法不向网络中注入过多的探测数据包,因此对网络正常流量不会产生较大影响。

In this thesis,an improved network topology discovery method was brought out through the definition of routing tables and address mapping tables,both of which were defined in MIB-II.The result of this method is much more accuracy,and the relationship among the devices interface can be effectively found in the configured VLAN.This method would not affect the normal network traffic much because this method would not inject too many detection packets into the network.
