On the Significance of Culture Construction for Building up China's Soft Power

文化是构成一个民族软实力的重要基石。党的十七大报告中提出了"文化软实力"这一概念,把提高国家文化软实力、增强中华民族文化影响力和竞争力作为我国文化建设的基本目标。改革开放以来,我国的硬实力得到显著增强,软实力的提高却相对滞后。本文主要论述推进文化建设、提升国家文化软实力的重要性和具体途径。

Culture is one of the very foundations for Chinese culture.17th CPC National Congress has put forward to build up the soft power of Chinese culture to support China＇s development and enhance its overall strength and competitiveness.However,the development of soft power is still lagged behind,though China has made great achievements in its hard power because of the policy of reform and opening-up.This paper has discussed the significance and paths to push forward the cultural development and to build up the soft power of Chinese culture.
