Soviets started to explore liquid rocket engine technologies as early as 1930s. Through the effort, they have successfully developed a series of liquid engines for their launch vehicles. This article gives a brief introduction to the development of Soviet liquid engines, and a special briefing of the Proton and Energia engines is also given.
