天基电磁轨道炮可以用来发射重量在10公斤以下的微型航天器,以完成各种花费不多而又很有特色的空间科学任务。然而,要想在近期内部署这类天基电磁发射装置是不可能的。本文对各种近期的化学运载工具及上面级方案进行了评价,并提出了几种可执行某些微型航天器发射任务的方案。
It has been suggested that microspacecraft (mass < 10kg) launched with a space-based electromagnetic railgun could accom-plish a variety of potentially inexpensive and unique space science mis-sions. However, the deployment of this kind of space-based electromagnetic launcher is not considered a near-term possibility. This article evaluates a variety of near-term chemical launch vehicle and upper-stage options and discusses some launch vehicle options for application to several conceptual microspacecraft missions.
