改革开放以来,中国经济经历了飞速发展的30年。这种势头能否持续,取决于如何更好地挖掘中国经济的潜力,同时解决好中国经济面临的问题。作者长期身处中国经济改革实践与理论研究的最前沿,对中国经济有独到的认知。他认为中国经济发展将一定程度上重复欧美、日本走过的工业化道路。但是,中国经济的持续发展有自己的有利条件与独特优势,主要包括数量巨大的人口、悠久的历史与文化遗产,以及世界进入信息时代。与此同时,中国经济也面临着世所罕见的挑战。

China's economy has witnessed a 30-year fast growth since the nation started its reform and opening-up drive.Whether or not this trend is sustainable depends on how to better deal with long-term challenges and bring out potentials of the economy.The author has been working in the forefront of China's economic reform,both in terms of practice and theory,and thus acquired unique knowledge of the Chinese economy.From his point of view,the development pattern of China's economy will for sure replicate the industrialization path of Europe,U.S.,and Japan to a large extent.But China's continuous growth also bears its own favorable features,mainly due to the extremely large population,the long history and rich cultural heritage,as well as the fact that the world has moved into the information era.Meanwhile,China faces unusual challenges.
