Mathematics and The Good

在讲述善的宇宙论的《蒂迈欧》篇,柏拉图反复提到数学,显示数学和善有着内在的联系。但在其成文对话和未成文教诲中,柏拉图却对数学和善的关系有不同的论述。对此人们给出了不同的解释。而通过对柏拉图文本的分析可知,数学不是认识善的手段,本身也是一种善,并且是善自身和宇宙善的构成部分。

In Timaeus about Account of the good universe,Plato repeatedly refers to mathematics,so he show that mathematics and good intrinsically link.However,in his written dialogues and unwritten teachings,Plato presents different accounts about the relation between mathematics and good.Scholars have given different interpretations for it.Through the analysis of Plato＇s texts,we know that the math is not a means for understanding good,but it is itself a good,and is component of good self and universe good.
