This text introduced the connect technique of the secondary development of CATIA：Automation technique and CAA technique,and analyzed the merit and shortcoming of the twos.Based on the Automation technique,taking VB as the basic procedure language,the paper carried out a 3D virtual model to the wheel gear,avoided the repeated operation of CATIA oneself model,raised the developing efficiency of product.
