The enhancement of agricultural efficiency in an ＂eight-one-one＂ area （mountains take eight parts, rivers one part, and arable land the remaining part, out of a total ten）, has been a great challenge for local leaders, especially while trying to maintain a healthy income for farmers into the bargain. But the achievements of the regional government in recent years have been encouraging.
