摘要
提出了一种可叠加的新型ATM接口交换板,由ATM物理层接口、ATM层翻译逻辑、共享存储器交换网络、ATM信令处理单元以及计算机控制与管理系统等组成,具有在板交换、信令插入/提取,以及本地CPU信令分析处理功能。折叠式交换单元通过背板混洗总线进行互连,构成分布式ATM交换机,扩容简单且性能/价格比高。描述了新型接口交换板的系统结构、各部分组成和具体实现。
This paper proposes a new kind of expandable ATM interfacing and switching card, which consists of ATM physical layer interface, ATM layer translating logic, shared buffer switching element, ATM signaling processing unit as well as computer control system. The new card can accomplish functions of inserting and extracting line signaling and analysis it on board. So the connection switching between the UNI interfaces within the board can be done internally. Because the switching element has folding property, through backplane shuffle interconnecting network many cards can be interconnected together to construct a distributed large capacity of ATM switch. As a result, the distributed ATM switch can expand its capacity smoothly and has a high performance/cost ratio. The architecture design, system components and detailed implementation are given in the paper.
