时空意象:作为现代小说之叙述脉络——以卡夫卡与福克纳为例

Time-space image:As a narrative train in modern novels Taking Franz Kafka and William Faulkner as examples

卡夫卡与福克纳以其抽象的语言、有违传统叙述脉络的叙述方式以及使故事陌生化的笔法成为现代小说之经典作家。其中以时间或空间意象构筑现代小说叙述脉络的方式也成为解读其经典作品的一种新方式。场景作为一种空间意象成为卡夫卡施展其变形手法以实现"将内心世界的面积置于地理面积之中"的企图;而福克纳则以一种内存在声音和时间脱节(时间混乱)作为叙述动因,将所谓的美国南方历史变为一种(数字)流动的模式来进行认知。两位现代主义大师以其独特的时间、空间意象展开其抽象、无界限的内心之旅。而对其作品的解读也成为对人类心智的无限挑战。

Abstract language anti-traditional narrative train and alienation effect made Franz Kafka and William Faulkner immortal in modernism.Among those features,space image in Kafka＇s novels and time image in Faulkner＇s novels could be new perspectives to understand their classics.The scene as a kind of space image was a way which helped the author to accomplish his attempt for putting his inside world into the physical world＇s area.Whereas William Faulkner took the inner voice and the time disorder as his narrative motivations and cognized the American southern history with the help of using the number stream.Both of them as the most classic writers of modernism used abstract images,space or time,to express their special subtle and borderless inner worlds.And at the same time how to understand their classic works becomes a kind of big challenge for our minds.
