民俗学在中国的产生发展几乎是与新文学同时的,众多新文学家对民俗学研究做出了重要贡献。周作人对民间歌谣研究的倡导以及搜集整理,就是一个比较典型的例子。文章从周作人对歌谣研究的理论阐述、其征集歌谣的实践、社会影响及意义等方面,对周作人的歌谣研究进行了评述。

In China,Folklore came into being and developed almost simultaneously with the new-vernacular literature.Many new writers made important contributions to studies on Folklore.Zhou Zuoren,who actively collected and studied Ballads,is a typical example.The article reviews Zhou Zuoren＇s achievements in ballads studies from his theory-construction,practice of collecting ballads and social influence.
